The Corporate Staff Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of Sentinel Peak Capital Partners’ corporate operations. This position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of corporate entities, preparing accurate financial reports, and supporting strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis. The role works directly with the Chief Financial Officer and Managing Partners to ensure accuracy, transparency, and timeliness in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This individual must be highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working across multiple entities and projects within a dynamic, growth-oriented real estate organization.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile all corporate general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, accruals, and financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly corporate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Manage and reconcile corporate bank accounts, intercompany transfers, and investment accounts on a daily basis.
- Support the CFO and Managing Partners with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for operating companies and investment entities.
- Prepare and record partner distributions, management fees, and corporate allocations across multiple entities.
- Coordinate with external CPA firms for tax preparation and annual audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
- Track and manage corporate payables, receivables, and expense reporting in accordance with company policy.
- Analyze variance reports and provide financial insights to leadership on corporate performance.
- Support capital project accounting and prepare draw documentation as needed.
- Assist with special projects, acquisitions, and financial due diligence as requested by the CFO or Managing Partners.
- Manage third-party staff accountants and AP teams.
- Conduct random audits of work performed by the Accounting Department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 3–5 years of experience in corporate or general accounting; real estate or investment firm experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and multi-entity accounting structures.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; experience with RealPage, QuickBooks, or Yardi preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Team-oriented with a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
