Senior Manager/Supervisor
The Compliance Director is responsible for ensuring our multifamily housing portfolio complies with all federal, state, and local regulations. This includes LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, Fair Housing, and any affordable housing program requirements tied to our communities. The role works closely with community managers and leadership to ensure that resident files, leases, certifications, and property operations meet program standards. This is a hands-on position that combines policy knowledge, staff training, and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
  • Review and approve resident applications, certifications, and recertifications for accuracy.
  • Keep up to date on program rules (LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, Fair Housing, etc.) and communicate changes to staff.
  • Ensure all properties stay in good standing with housing agencies and investors.
  • Conduct regular file audits to ensure accuracy and program compliance.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to housing agencies, investors, and ownership.
  • Support property teams before, during, and after state or investor audits.
  • Train property staff on compliance procedures, program requirements, and Fair Housing.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and answer day-to-day compliance questions from site teams.
  • Create easy-to-follow guides, checklists, and tools for property staff.
  • Work with property managers to correct compliance issues quickly.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with housing agencies and regulatory partners.
  • Communicate clearly with leadership about risks, deadlines, and audit outcomes.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of affordable housing compliance experience (LIHTC, HUD, or similar programs).
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of LIHTC regulations and Fair Housing requirements.
  • Experience preparing for and responding to audits.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and training ability — must be able to explain complex rules in plain language.
  • Industry certifications a plus (HCCP, COS, TCS, or similar).
